Process Steps

Step 1

Importer lodges application for Import Permit electronically and approval letter from NEPA.

 

Step 2

Supervisor Veterinary Permits examines application

Step 3 

Application placed on hold for risk assessment and presentation of NEPA CITES Approval Letter (If not already submitted)

 

Step 4

Supervisor Veterinary Permits receives assessment and NEPA Approval letter and passes to Director of permit approval.

 

Step 5

Director Considers application and supporting documents.

Step 6 

Directors decision?

If "Rejected", the application is rejected in the e-trade system and applicant notified of rejection via a private email.

If "Approved", the application is approved in the e-trade system and importer advised import will be allowed along with applicable charges.

 
Step 7

Importers chosen Payment method?

If "Manual", importer attends office to make payment.

If "Online", importer makes payment online. Go to Step 11

 
Step 8

Pay advice prepared and given to the importer

 
Step 9

 Importer makes payment to cashier.

Step 10   Cashier accepts payment and enters details in system
Step 11  System issues receipt 
Step 12 Importer presents receipt to VSD
Step 13  Import Permit provided to importer
