Process Steps

Step 1 |
Import requires appliction advice? If Yes, possible importer calls or e-mails Customer service Unit (CSU) seeking advice about importing a product If No, go to Step 7 |

Step 2 |
CSU passes on request to Supervisor. | |
|
Step 3 |
If request type is via Phone, Supervisor Veterinary Permits considers request and advises importer through CSU if importeation will be allowed, rejected or require risk analysis. If request type is via e-mail, Supervisor Veterinary Permits considers requests. |

Step 4 |
Does request require risk analysis? if No, Supervisor Veterinary Permits advises applicant through CSU if importation will be allowed or rejected. if Yes, request is passed to the VSD's Risk Analysis Unit (RAU) for assessment. |

Step 5 |
RAU prepares and forwards report to Supervisor Veterinary Permits, who then advices applicant via CSU. |

Applicant advised to proceed to application? If Yes, go to Step 7. |

Product approved for import from the country of origin? If No, application is passed to VSD's Risk Analysis Unit for assessment, RAU prepares report and forwards to Supervisor Veterinary Permits. If Yes, go to Step 13. |
