Sanitization Reminder to Importers of Used Motor Vehicles

The Trade Board Limited wishes to remind customers that all used motor vehicles, including equipment such as backhoes, excavators, forklifts and trailers, must be sanitized by its authorized agent before importation. Import permit applications received for the aforementioned items without the required Pre-shipment Inspection Certificate will be rejected from the JSWIFT system, with immediate effect.

The sanitization element of the Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) programme, was introduced on June 1, 2019, and seeks to prevent plant and animal diseases that could have a significant negative impact on the local agriculture sector and the environment.
