The form is available for purchase from the Trade Board Limited or the Jamaica Exporter's Association.

 

Process Steps

Step 1 

Contact the Plant Quarantine/Produce Inspection Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and obtain a copy of the “Packing House Requirements for Agricultural Products”. Ensure that all specifications are attained in order to obtain certification for your packinghouse.

   

Step 2

In addition to receiving the packinghouse certification letter to present to JAMPRO, visit jexporter.com or the JAMPRO offices and register to become an exporter. The registration process usually takes five to ten days  

Step 3

Contact packaging companies or the Bureau of Standards regarding suitable packaging for various kinds of fresh foods.

   

Step 4

Purchase and complete Export Entry Form C82, which is available from the Trade Board or the Jamaica Exporter’s Association. Complete all relevant commercial and export forms.

 
Step 5 Check shipping/air cargo rates and schedules as well as provisions for insurance coverage. Complete Tally Sheet (by air) or Wharf/Dock Receipt and Cargo Integrity Form (by sea).  
Step 6 Contact the Plant Quarantine/Produce Inspection Unit and make an appointment for the inspection and certification of each shipment. A Phytosanitary Certificate should be received upon inspection of your shipment and before going to Jamaica Customs for validation.
