1 Valid identification such as Passport, National ID or Jamaican Driver’s Licence.
2 Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN)
3 Bill of Lading or Airway Bill
4 Proper Invoice (where applicable)
5 Import Permit or Import Licence (where applicable)

Process Steps

Step 1 

The Central Sorting Post Office will oversee the Customs clearance of packages on behalf of the importer / receipient and arrange delivery to the local post office  based on the address provided 

Step 2

If package is  detained  by Customs then :

(i) Advisory sent to the receipient from the Post Office, stating the reason for the detention and what is required 

If package is not   detained  by Customs then :

(i) The applicant must determined if FOB value is greater than $50.00 USD
Step 3

If  the value of FOB is  not greater than $ 50.00 USD  then :

(i) No Customs charges will be  applied

(ii) Collect your package or have it delivered to address 

If  the value of FOB is  greater than  $ 50.00 USD then:

(i) Customs charges will be applied 

(ii) Make payment to Post Office the Cashier where the package is being collected 

(iii) Collect your package or have it delivered to your address
