3 Survey Diagram (at least 1 : 6000 scale) showing the exact area to be quarried  
4 Resource Evaluation Report (Sand and Gravel only)  
5  Test Result Certificate   
6 Restoration Bond   
7 Tax Compliance Certificate/ Tax Registration Number (TRN)  
8 Quarry Tax Production Returns plus Quarry Tax for the period(s) outstanding-  Renewal application only)  
     

 

Process Steps

Step 1

 

Complete the Quarry Licence Application Form

Step 2

Submit the form along with required documents 

Step 3

The Registrar checks the application for completeness

Step 4

If the application was not completed then:

(i) Applicant completes  the application and resubmits to the registrar

If the application is completed then:

(i) Applicant pays application fee by the cashier 

Step 5 Applicant collects receipt and return the application to the registrar
Step 6 The registrar collects application and assigns A Quarry licence number. A file is opened under the applicant name
Step7 The applicant is advised to post  a "Notice of Intention" to quarry at the proposed site.
Step 8 An inspection site request is sent to Government Agency
Step 9 Inspection Report is prepared and application  is taken to the Quarries Advisory Committee (QAC) for review
Step 10

If QAC does not recommend the granting of a licence then:

(i) Licence is not approved

Step 11

If QAC grants licence then:

(i) Commissioner informs the applicant and advises that Restoration Bond

(ii) The documentation  for licence is prepared and sent to the Permanent Secretary for sign off  and submitted for approval by the Minister 

(iii) The licence is returned to the Registrar (MGD) for the Commissioner's signature  and stamp

(iv) The applicant is then advised to attend the MGD to  be briefed on the special conditions  of the licence 

(v) Applicant signs orginal document and receives licence
